I strongly disagree with the statement undermining the significance of the American Revolution on American society in the two decades after its conclusion. The American Revolution was undoubtedly a significant sociopolitical revolution that ignited the "American mind" and underscored the concept of liberty; such innovative ideas created an immediate impact on American society. The establishment of a democratic republic nation and the flourishment of the nation based on the principles of individual rights and liberty proves the impact.
The establishment of a democratic republic government, which history has never seen before, proves the immediate impact of the American Revolution. Cherishing the zeal for individual rights and prevention of tyranny, the Americans set up a Democratic Republic: A government that operates efficiently with the delegates of people but respects the liberty of the people and systemically prevents tyranny at the same time. Such a perfect balance of liberty and efficiency comes from the Revolutionary ideals and left a huge mark on human history. This government was established shortly after the conclusion of the Revolution, so the American Revolution greatly impacted its next two decades.
